SHAHDON’s Experience (Participant) [he/him]

The quest to uncover the elusive purpose of my existence has led to working on and discovering the self. It is said that the answer lies in the journey, not the destination and the search for the self has been perilous. WOTS has been part of that journey.

Sometimes, life doesn't make sense.

Sometimes, the things we do at WOTS don't make sense.

I've learnt to become comfortable with the unknown.

Do something uncomfortable every day.

There is power in breaking the flow.

We can become so used to our comforts and discomforts that we stop questioning.

Why do we do what we do?

The body speaks, but are we listening?

What does it mean to listen to our body?

The body needs to unlearn, learn and relearn the way we move.

We spend years training our minds to think critically in formal education or schooling. But we forget that our body has to be taught how to experience and navigate the world intelligently and authentically. I've learnt that this is what it means to have a more embodied experience. We move through life with this body, so to have a strong body and mind connection is something I have recently come to appreciate significantly.

The business of life is the acquisition of memories. Looking back, I realise that if I did not disrupt this predictable flow, my life would have been the same uneventful and forgettable blur. While thinking about death, I did not want to regret spending too much time being busy with work and not living meaningfully by creating memories.

Thank you, WOTS, for the memories.

Thank you, WOTS, for providing us the space and time to play, explore, and create!

Thank you to my co-players for playing with me. I hope you guys have found whatever you were searching for in 'Found in Translation'.
