Darryl’s Experience (Facilitator) [he/him]

Above, I see an image of the universe that has so many possibilities. So much to uncover. So much that is still unknown.

When we allow the unthinkable and the personal to emerge, when something ‘different-from-the-norm’ begins to form, then we begin to see so many possibilities in the human being, the universe, and our relationships.

If I look at a tree and insist that it is a tree, then all I have is that.

But perhaps, I see a reaching out towards others, or I see a stretching towards the sun.

Perhaps, I see how different leaves can co-exist on a branch.

Or maybe, I begin to wonder about the roots — how those things underground create such a firm foundation for life.

Maybe, I wonder why the bark has such contours, and what lives within those crevices.

Then now — it’s no longer just a tree.

It’s something more.

It creates a journey for me.

For me to appreciate the universe and the people around me.

For me to know more about my self.

So thank you, participants and facilitators, past and present, who have provided me with ways to work on my self, to learn about how differences can unite (or create meaningful tension), and to just be present, to let go when needed, to breathe out the bullsh*t, and to move on.
