Darryl’s Experience (Facilitator) [he/him]

It’s all about being human, isn’t it?

I figure it’s really time to learn to be a shape-shifter.

It’s time to look for the in-between - that moving point between you and I.

It’s time to look for the in-between - that moving point between want and ‘don’t want’.

It’s time to look for the in-between - that moving point between know and ‘don’t know’.

I remember a specific moment during this run when an incredibly meaningful conversation happened. I wouldn’t call it a conversation. Because that’s a label. But what’s wrong with labelling? What’s right or wrong?

Anyway, for that specific moment of struggle: there were possibilities that opened up. I asked myself why the work on the self was important for me. And I guess each time this programme runs, I’m working on my self too - I ask many questions. Sometimes questions that come too early, or too late. Perhaps I ask out of fear, or perhaps out of imagined or real insecurities. And it’s a difficult process.

How can we continue caring in moments of struggle? How can we continue to relate to each other as human beings again and again? How can we keep choosing to look at another person with fresh eyes, with a desire to relate, and an organic fascination about the various unknowns that emerge?

I don’t know. And I guess I’ll never really know. And it’s fine. Because when I am fine with not-knowing, I realise so much more.

So let’s drop the ball, shall we? It’s ok one.
